In 2014, as a gap year project, I started Erika’s Closet LLC, a fashion blog that quickly evolved into an e-commerce business. For years I had had an interest in fashion, but coming from a long line of doctors, engineers, and business professionals, I had never considered it as a possible career path. My friends who joked that they would love to shop my closet were the inspiration behind Erika’s Closet. I wanted my friends and customers to have the option to dress like me. I bought clothing at wholesale prices from various vendors, and I used my blog posts to demonstrate how customers could style outfits sold on my website. Erika’s Closet was the inception of my desire to continue my education in fashion.
